Why Won’t My Car Start? If your Car Won't Start, or Your Engine Won’t Turn Over, you're definitely not alone—this happens to everyone at some point. The most common culprit is a Dead Battery, especially if you hear a Clicking Sound when turning the key. It could also be your Starter or Alternator acting up, both of which are essential in firing up the engine. Sometimes, it’s as simple as being out of Gas (hey, it happens!). Don’t overlook the possibility of a Bad Ignition Switch or even a Blown Fuse messing with your Car’s Electronics. And if your key Fob has a Dead Battery, newer cars might not even recognize it to start the engine. Or worst case your motor could be locked up.
