Auto Repair in Murray & Paducah

We were from out of town traveling through Kentucky when our car broke down. Turned out to be a BIG JOB; the Catalytic Converter, Exhaust and several other parts that needed to be ordered and would take a few days. Originally we were planning on leaving to go back home the next day. Now we would need to rent a car while they repaired ours and reserve another hotel room. They graciously offered us a ride to a nearby car rental, but they didn't have any cars available to rent. Additional phone calls were made around town on our behalf but no one else in town had any cars available. Then they kindly drove us back to the shop. As we stood there trying to contemplate our next move, Howie offered to us that we could borrow the 'shop car.' We were shocked by his/their generosity!!! We were able to use the shops car, which was true godsend! During the entire time they were keeping us informed of the delivery dates/times for the parts. One part would take longer to get to the shop. So they made the decision to send another shop guy (very nice, sorry we forgot his name) to personally drive to and from to get the part. This way they could start the repairs sooner. He did so using his personal vehicle because we had the 'shop car.' That drive for him was several hours up and back. THE SHOP DID EVERYTHING AND MORE that they could to complete the job asap and not to inconvenience us any longer than necessary. We can't thank them enough! They all were very personable, nice men. I spoke to Howie and Josh over the phone a few times, they were both great people and amazing customer service inside the actual shop with knowledge of vehicles aswell. They knew what was happening to my vehicle and was willing to take on something much more challenging than just an oil change or brakes. I had snapped a VVT solenoid in half aswell as dropped a nut into my timing chain. They got the VVT solenoid out and only charged me a half hour of diagnostic, but the quote to get the nut was too much for me unfortunately. They worked with me the entire way even leaving the keys for me after closing to be able to tow the car home the same day and get it started. They both deserve a raise and I appreciate the master technician and owner for also taking on the challenge. Thank everyone who was apart of this job for making me life a lot easier🙏truly thank you.

I have been to a few different repair shops in my life. Harlan’s was the first place that I ever trusted. They are very professional and detailed. Made an appt and they made sure that they contacted me the same day with the issues and didn’t have to wait days after days. The communication was wonderful. I am not very smart when it comes to cars but they made sure everything was explained. Also I got a text on all the cost and was able to approve it or deny it. I called today about my car over heating and they made sure they can get it in the shop tomorrow to see what’s wrong with it. I will never go to another place but this one. The prices was not to bad. Even if they were there would still have my business. I just don’t like to be left in the dark for days and days not knowing what’s going on. Harlan Automotive has officially earned a customer for life! I brought my 2016 Suburban in for a popping noise underneath the front end that I had been dealing with for quite some time. I intentionally gave them very little backstory because I wanted them to start with a blank slate and diagnose the problem themselves. Within about 30 minutes, they had driven it, put it on the lift, and found that three of the four upper control arm cam-adjusting bolts were loose. They tightened everything, rechecked it, and addressed the problem I came in for. My total bill was only about $85. What makes this even more impressive is that another shop (Royal Oaks Chevrolet) had just quoted me $3,377 to fix the popping noise. Harlan had absolutely no knowledge of that diagnosis when they inspected my vehicle. Beyond that, the customer service was outstanding. Both guys who helped me were named Josh, and they were incredibly kind, professional, thorough, and straightforward. They looked over my entire vehicle, gave me a detailed report of other items I should keep an eye on, and never once pressured me into additional repairs or tried to scare me into spending money unnecessarily. Finding an automotive shop you feel like you can trust is invaluable. This was my first experience with Harlan Automotive, but it definitely will not be my last. Highly, highly recommend them—especially if you need an honest second opinion. They saved me more than $3,000!

This place is so fantastic, it's such a relief to find a place to fix my car that is professional, communicative, and accommodating. Harlan offers drop off and pick up outside of work hours that's so convienent for people who work. They also diagnose your problem without up selling you and on top of it all, it's so affordable and trustworthy work. Joshua was so personable and professional. I've never had a mechanic experience this good, and I won't go anywhere else for my vehicle now.

Our 2019 mini cooper would not start. Since I am very familiar with Harlan's, I knew that was where I wanted to take it to be worked on. I called on a Monday and had it towed there on Monday morning. Mike diagonosed the problem and had it fixed the same day. I could not pick up the vehicle until Wednesday. Adam, the service advisor, called and let me know that it needed a battery. He was very helpful and explained the repair cost and the diagnostics. I appreciate the efficiency and the service that Mike, Adam and the whole team put into keeping me informed and then getting me back on the road safely and quickly.
